She Wolf Of London (1946)

When a brutal series of murders occur at the local park,  a young woman (June Lockhart) fears that she may be the victim of a family curse and that she turns into a werewolf at night and is responsible for the killings. Directed by Jean Yarbrough,  the film is no better or worse than much of the horror programmers Universal was churning out in the 1940s. With the exception of the Val Lewton films at RKO like CAT PEOPLE,  I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE,  SEVENTH VICTIM etc.,  there weren't too many female driven horror films in the 40s. Unfortunately,  June Lockhart's character is too passive to be very interesting. Anyway,  it's more of a mystery movie than a horror film as we never see any of the actual killings and it's fairly easy to figure out the culprit behind it all. The film runs barely over an hour in length so one doesn't have time to get bored with it. With Sara Haden,  Don Porter,  Jan Wiley,  Lloyd Corrigan and Eily Malyon.
