Octopussy (1983)
James Bond 007 (Roger Moore) is assigned to find out who is stealing jewels and treasure from the Russian government but in doing so, he also uncovers a nefarious plan to detonate a nuclear weapon on an American air base in Germany. The 13th entry in James Bond franchise and quite entertaining even if Roger Moore can barely disguise his ennui and many of the set pieces seem derivative of other Bonds. Directed by John Glen, this one is set in India and Germany and, unlike its more subdued predecessor FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, goes into overdrive with the action, stunts and bad puns. Maud Adams as Octopussy makes for one of the more substantial Bond girls though it's the statuesque Kristina Wayborn who takes your breath away. Louis Jourdan as the debonair villain is amusingly aloof though Steven Berkoff as a renegade Russian general goes ridiculously over the top. John Barry once again provides the elegant score though the title song All Time High which is sung by Rita Coolidge is a rather dreary piece. With Geoffrey Keen, Lois Maxwell and Desmond Llewelyn.
