The Cartier Affair (1984)
Fresh out of prison, an ex-con (David Hasselhoff) is coerced by a thug (Telly Savalas) who "protected" him in prison into a heist job. The job consists of infiltrating the home of a famous actress (Joan Collins), posing as her gay secretary while casing the house's security system for a jewel robbery. Directed by Rod Holcomb, this made for television film saw some theatrical showings overseas. It's a rather lame mixture of romcom and action made at the height of Hasselhoff's and Collins' careers as both KNIGHT RIDER and DYNASTY were riding high. Alas, Collins and Hasselhoff have zero chemistry together and worse, the stolid Hasselhoff doesn't have the comic touch needed though to be fair, even Cary Grant couldn't get away with material like this. With Ed Lauter, Randi Brooks and Rita Taggart.
