Sleeping Murder (1987)

Excellent adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel with Joan Hickson again inhabiting Miss Marple with aplomb. When a newly married couple (John Moulder Brown, Geraldine Alexander) move into a country manor, she begins having flashbacks of witnessing a murder. It turns out that she lived there briefly as a child and has repressed memories of the killing. As she begins to explore the past, with the help of Miss Marple, it also brings back the murderer. It’s good that it’s a solid adaptation because it’s obvious who the killer is very early on so there’s not much “whodunit” as to how the murderer will be revealed. The Devon locations are quite lovely.
