The Snorkel (1958)

A diabolical murderer (Peter Van Eyck) murders his wife in such a way that he is beyond suspicion but the his stepdaughter (Mandy Miller) is convinced he killed her mother. From that point on, it becomes a cat and mouse game to see if she can expose him before she becomes his next victim. Director Guy Green (A PATCH OF BLUE) keeps the suspense front and center with very little in the way of unnecessary distraction. It’s a pity that Moore isn’t a better actress, even though she goes through the motions, she seems strangely uninvolved in the proceedings. Still, that aside, it’s a particularly tense thriller. With Betta St. John, Gregoire Aslan and a scene stealing cocker spaniel played by “Flush“.
