Two On A Guillotine (1965)
The estranged daughter (Connie Stevens) of a famous magician (Cesar Romero) stands to inherit his fortune but there’s a catch. She’ll inherit only if she stays at his old creepy mansion for seven nights from midnight till dawn. We’ll she survive? Go crazy? Or die of fright? For connoisseurs of haunted house movies, it’s pretty routine but there might be some fun even though the shocks are anticipated. The house itself is awesome, a four tiered decaying mansion just made for skeletons jumping out at you or strange noises in the night and handsomely photographed in wide screen B&W by Oscar winner Sam Leavitt (ANATOMY OF A MURDER). The film features the final score by the legendary Max Steiner (the score itself is weak). With Dean Jones, Virginia Gregg, Parley Baer, Connie Gilchrist and John Hoyt.
